FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) is in the process of updating floodplain maps for our City. These maps show the extent and depth of potential flood hazard areas of the City. The City has been advised that mortgage lenders require flood insurance for properties affected by the floodplain maps. The revised floodplain maps are called Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps or DFIRM for short.
