Camarillo Animal Shelter
The Ventura County Department of Animal Regulation provides animal control
services for the City of Camarillo. The department is available on a 24-hour emergency
call basis to pick up stray animals or injured stray animals by calling 388-4341.
Animal Regulation will attempt to contact
owners of stray animals who are wearing tags with the owner's telephone number, so
always keep your pet licensed and tagged. If you have lost an animal, you must visit the
shelter at least once every three days to look for your pet.

The County Animal Shelter in Camarillo routinely has animals available for adoption.
Adopted cats and dogs are required to be spayed or neutered by the new owners.
Certificates offering discounts on the operation are available. The Shelter also has a
certificate good for a free health exam for your adopted pet to be redeemed at local
veterinarians.
The shelter is located at 600 Aviation Drive. Hours are Monday, 10 AM to 7 PM,
Tuesday through Friday, 3 PM to 7 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM. The shelter
number is 388-4341.
Animal Abuse & Cruelty
Owners or keepers of pets are required by law to provide adequate and proper food, drink and shelter. It is also wrong to beat or needlessly kill an animal, or treat it in an inhumane manner. Instances of abuse or cruelty should be reported to the Ventura County Humane Society at 656-5031.
Animal Adoptions
The Ventura County Animal Shelter is located at 600 Aviation Drive at the Camarillo Airport. Dogs and cats are available for adoption on a daily basis. Shelter hours are 10 AM to 7 PM on Monday, 3 PM to 7 PM Tuesday through Friday. and 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. The shelter is not open on holidays or Sundays.
The fee for adoption animals varies depending upon the age, sex, and type of animal.
