Civil Defense/Emergency Procedures
In the event of a major natural or man-made disaster, or other incident that could
significantly affect the Camarillo area, your best source of information could be the Emergency Alert System (EAS), formerly called the Emergency Broadcast System. The EAS is in place in case television and other forms of information are rendered unusable.
The primary radio stations in Ventura County for EAS broadcasts are KVEN (am) 1450, and KHAY (fm) 100.7.
The City of Camarillo takes emergency preparedness steps pursuant to the California Standardized Emergency Management System, or SEMS. Through SEMS, the City is assisted by the Ventura County Operational Area, which is governed by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department of Emergency Services (Sheriff’s OES).
