RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCION - PLANS & DEVELOPMENT REVIEW
The Public Works Department has civil engineers and technicians assigned to
coordinate the review of utility and street construction plans associated with private residential construction. Plans must be submitted to Public Works Department for all new residential construction in the City.
Information related to the review process, submittal requirements and Engineering, Water, and Camarillo Sanitary District fees is provided by the Public Works Department Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Visit the Public Works counter at City Hall, 601 Carmen Drive, or call 388-5359.
Plans must also be approved by the Departments of Community Development
and Building & Safety prior to issuance of a building permit. This requirement also applies to residential construction such as room additions, decks, patio covers and garages. Normal residential plans review takes a maximum of five days; one set of approved documents will be returned to the applicant. Questions related to residential plans review may be answered by calling either the Community Development Department at 388-5360 or Building & Safety at 388-5395, weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM.
