It is the Finance Department's responsibility to account for all the revenues and expenditures of the city.
The department provides utility billing for water, sewer and refuse services. It also administers the Business Tax Ordinance to ensure business compliance with city business tax requirements, handles parking citations, processes purchase orders, oversees the city's invest-ments portfolio and provides payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable services. Additionally, the department coordinates and produces the city's
annual budget
and prepares the
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
Director of Finance Ronnie Campbell heads the Finance staff of 20, including seven customer service-utility billing specialists, three business tax personnel, four accounting clerks, and six administrative and/or professional staff. Many of these employees are on the "front line," instantly ready to respond to the many requests for city services information. Others are "be-hind the scenes," constantly monitoring the daily flow of funds in and out of the hundreds of accounts that make up the city's accounting system.
