Camarillo, California –The City of Camarillo invites the community to provide input on the Housing Element Update through an online survey on the City’s Open City Hall platform.
The information gathered from this survey will help inform the City about any other programs that may need to be included in the Housing Element Update to address the needs in the community.Click here to take the survey. The survey closes at 5:00 pm Friday, March 26, 2021.
Camarillo is in the process of updating the City’s Housing Element for 2021-2029, which involves developing draft housing goals, policies, and programs to address the community’s housing needs until 2029. The Housing Element of the General Plan is a State-mandated policy document that identifies Camarillo’s existing and future housing needs and establishes clear goals to inform future housing decisions.
The survey comes after two public workshops that have been held to date as part of the public input process for the Housing Element Update. The first public workshop, held on August 27, 2020, focused on introducingthe process and providing an opportunity for the public to learn about the Housing Element Update and to have discussions regarding a preliminary inventory of existing residential sites that may have potential for residential land use. The recording is available to watch here.
At the second public workshop, held on February 11, 2021, City staffpresented the draft goals, policies and programs, shared an update on the progress of the Housing Element Update, and answered questions regarding the project. The recording is available to watch here.
