PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF (PSPS)
The PSPS process is determined by Southern California Edison (SCE). All residents, including those who need continuous power for special medical equipment, are strongly encouraged to visit www.sce.com/PSPS, or call (800) 655-4555, and update their emergency contact information with SCE.

INDUSTRIAL HEMP
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) allows industrial hemp to be cultivated, and the Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner’s office is the local agency responsible for permitting/registering commercial hemp operations. More information is available on the Agricultural Commissioner's website or by calling (805) 388-4222 or emailing VenturaCountyAg.Commissioner@ventura.org.

Public Meeting on Industrial Hemp Cultivation: On November 19, 2019, the Agricultural Commissioner presented a report to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors regarding hemp cultivation in Ventura County. The meeting agenda and board letter are available on the County of Ventura’s website

PEAK OIL PROJECT
On Thursday, November 14, 2019, the Ventura County Planning Commission denied the appeal by PEAK Oil of the Notice of Violation issued by the County of Ventura. According to the project representative at the hearing, the Peak Oil site has been completely shut down since mid-May of 2019. At this time, there is no indication if or when the operation will resume at the current location.
